So you're interested in going to Nicaragua?

Then here is some information that you need to know...

Dates: July 24 - August 1 (The exact days of departure and arrival may change, and times are still being determined, but we will definitely be going during that week).

Cost: $1500 (We are planning several church-wide fundraisers to help off set some of the cost, and you are all encouraged to do your own fundraising as well).

Brief Description:
We will be going to Nicaragua to help out a few of our friends down there. The trip will be divided into three target areas: Schools, Orphanage, and Renovation. Below are descriptions of what each area involves:

Schools
We will be working alongside Emerson Diaz, a Christian youth worker, in the city of Managua. He has asked us to travel to a few different schools with him to put on a little show for the kids. We will put on a presentation in the morning for the elementary-age kids and another in the afternoon for the teenage students. Each presentation will consist of some silly games, a few short skits, and a salvation message.

Orphanage
Emerson's parents own and operate an orphanage in Managua. About 20 kids live at the orphanage full-time, but another 30 or so come in and out throughout the day. We will be doing various projects on the grounds like fixing the basketball hoops and repairing the playgrounds. More importantly, we will be spending a lot of time playing with the kids there and just loving on them: crafts, stories, futbol, games, etc.

Renovation
Josh Hotsenpiller's In-laws, the Manghams, have some friends in Managua that need their church facilities severely renovated. We will be doing a huge overhaul of their Sunday school building. Right now it has a dirt floor, unstable walls that let the wind in, and a leaky roof. Our goal is to bring their facilities up to par.
